The good people at Furness Enterprise (the people behind this website nonetheless) are holding another Business Masterclass on October 11th, at the Duddon Suite at the Abbey House Hotel. And they promise they’ve got “a great pear lined up”!

Speaking at the event, which runs from 10am to 1pm are:

Harm Tegelaars
An entrepreneur who has in-depth, first hand knowledge in a broad field of business activities, including property development, hotel/health club operations and engineering. Currently Deputy Chairman of Cannons and President of the European Health and Fitness Federation, Harm has also co-founded Structural Science Composites (SSC) and will be officially opening their new production centre in Barrow following the presentation. Their patented ThruBeam structure is considered to be a product of unique design and Harm believes SSC has the capacity to grow into a world class company.

Sally Broom
The founder of Your Safe Planet, the website that links travellers to trusted local friends around the world. Graduating from London University in 2006 as one of their top law students, Sally decided against a legal career in favour of starting her own business. In returning to her home town of Ulverston, Sally is also an active member of the young professional and graduate community in Furness. Your Safe Planet is a 2007 nominee for an International Responsible Tourism Award, for work in the field of responsible volunteering abroad.
