Furness entrepreneur shortlisted for Award
Sally Broom, founder of Your Safe Planet, and leading lady in Furness Young Professionals, is a finalist of Oguntê Women’s Social Leadership Awards 2008.
We’re delighted to report that Sally is among the finalists nominated for the Women’s Social Leadership Awards 2008 (www.ogunte.com).
The awards recognise women who are examples of social leadership in campaigning, social enterprise, and voluntary work. Set up in 2007, the awards aim to encourage and reward extraordinary vision, ethical business practice and social responsibility. They showcase women in businesses and organisations that offer innovative and sustainable solutions to social problems.
Your Safe Planet’s founder Sally Broom says ‘We couldn’t have hoped for a better start to our second year than being named as a finalist for an OGUNTE award, an organisation whose ethos is so aligned with our own.’
The event is supported by Oguntê, a Social Innovations and Leadership Development company and BT Executive Women.
“At Oguntê, we are passionate about supporting and promoting women whose ideas and actions are sustainable solutions to social problems. We encourage them to come forward and be great social leaders, in order to make the world a fairer place. These women, recognised in our yearly Social Leadership Awards, prove that with generosity, confidence and networks, you can achieve great change.” Servane Mouazan , MD Oguntê Ltd and Social Innovations Coach.
